long week in Thomasville...

Day 5 waking up in Thomasville... not too much happening here.  The highlights of yesterday were working on my cooking blog, going on a walk in the afternoon and seeing Jennie at Deep River.  Today is slightly busier... we're going by to see Debbie and Molly at their big warehouse sale, then supper with Sarah, and a sneak preview of "An Evening of the Arts" at the Branch Ranch.  Tomorrow we leave for Virginia to go to Kassie's wedding.  Then back to Nashville...

Top 10

Anyone who has been to 6th week at CBC knows that the evening top ten is a major highlight.  Luke Vance recorded two of this weeks' top tens here and here.

An Irish experience...

Tonight Doug and I met friends (Luke Vance, Leslie, Brendan, Dave Dees, and Dave's friend, Jeremy) at the Celtic Cafe.  Courtney Branch is working there this summer, so we surprised her.  The service was good, the ambiance was good, the music was good, and the company was good.  The food, however, was mediocre.  Next time we'll probably just go for dessert.

CBC is the place for me!

This past week was my 14th year at camp.  Over the last 14 years, I have spent 35 weeks at camp.  It is truly one of my favorite places in the world (it ranks up there with St. Martin, Lyon, Nashville and Cap-Haitien).  Here are a few highlights:
Allena and Macy...
Shaina was baptized...
Luke and the bluegrass bunch...
rocking chairs=perfect addition to the front porch of the dining hall!
wonderful weather...
talent...
lunchtime fun...
sore after kickball...
the softball tradition...
kickball= new CBC tradition
Lee's artistic photo of Doug and me...
Terre and her neice...
PIZZA
Old friends
new baby
Chester, Luke, and me
Giving our thanks to Dennis for his leadership
Meghan and Michael's shower
Dinner at Stephen and Barbara's... what a winning bunch!

Thanks to God for another great week!  Can't wait for 6th week 2010.

Mmmm

We drove to NC today... we made a stop at Ketchie Creek Bakery for a delicious 5 flavor pound cake.

In case you were wondering, the 5 flavors are: lemon, almond, vanilla, coconut, and rum (kind of like pledging info... some things will always be remembered).
Topped with cream cheese icing!

2nd anniversary

For our 2nd anniversary we went to Germantown to the Mad Platter...
but first, a picture in my parents' back yard:

Our menus were personalized!

Supper was so yummy!
Afterwards we went to see Food Inc.  Everyone should go see it- it really makes you think!

It was a fun anniversary!  Now another week in TN and we'll be heading to NC, where we will finish our anniversary celebration with a 6" five flavor pound cake from Ketchie Creek Bakery!
