2nd anniversary
For our 2nd anniversary we went to Germantown to the Mad Platter...
but first, a picture in my parents' back yard:

Our menus were personalized!
Supper was so yummy!
Afterwards we went to see Food Inc. Everyone should go see it- it really makes you think!
It was a fun anniversary! Now another week in TN and we'll be heading to NC, where we will finish our anniversary celebration with a 6" five flavor pound cake from Ketchie Creek Bakery!

Goodbye Atlanta
We had a surprise b-day party for Holly at our last small group...
Lori holds the cream cheese pound cake with cream cheese icing and raspberries that I made (yum!)
I pledge allegiance...
I am grateful for being born and raised in the USA. I'm thankful for my health, education, and many opportunities, but... in light of 4th of July celebrations, the lyrics of a song come to mind...
my first allegiance is not to democracy or blood
it's to a king & a kingdom"

Stuff
I like stuff. I love things. I adore my belongings. I accumulate. I buy. I collect. I keep. I save.
All my life I've been encouraged in these tendencies... and I have not done a good job of resisting. Nothing brings this to light as much as packing, loading everything onto a truck, unloading, and then packing again to be stored for a year.
How do I break free from the bondage of my belongings? Perhaps a year away from them is just the cure I need.
