The last week

Last Friday we went on an outing with the Hendrixes to Cerdon, a village about 45 minutes away, known for their bubbly rosé.  We toured a wine-maker's factory, hiked up to a high hill above the town church and cemetery, had a delicious lunch, and hiked near a waterfall.

Saturday we went into Lyon and strolled from the opera to Bellecour, had kebabs, sat by the Rhone, and walked up the river to Foch.

Sunday we went to Geneva for church and lunch with the Kees.

Monday and Tuesday we stayed in Meyzieu.  Doug helped Arlin in the yard, I helped Pamela cook, and we tried to stay cool in the VERY hot weather.

Wednesday we went to Cassis for two nights.  We went to the beach, ate by the port, hiked to one of the Calanques, rode the tourist train, and just enjoyed the sunny, warm (but not too warm) weather.

Today is Fête de la Musique, but we are too tired to go into Lyon.  We took a stroll around Meyzieu to the concert in the town center, and enjoyed the cool weather.

Only one more week... still lots of things we want to do!
